Welcome to ItalianHorses!

This site is devoted to scale models of great Italian automobiles, especially Ferrari. Italian sports cars in general, and Ferraris in particular have always been among top performers in the sports car world, so when I started creating car models, Ferraris became my favorite object of modeling. Non-Italian cars  featured on the site are some of my favorite cars from other parts of the world.

Guess what? Its that time of the year again! No, not Christmas, but almost as exciting – I finally had the time to compile, design and post an update to ItalianHorses! To be honest, I had several models completed even before the end of 2008, but had no time to select the pictures out of literally thousands of shots, combine it all together, and write buildup diaries. I just kept building and shooting and over time, I ended up with so much material that I didn't know where to start!  As a result, this update is rather big, with three (actually, four) new 1/24 scale models added to the gallery.

I have completed F40GTE twins in December 2008, but only now had the time to compile all the materials into a comprehensive buildup. These models were rather complicated, and very time consuming, but turned out great in the end. I really like IGOL liveries! While I was building these racing F40's I was asked to build a road-going F40 – in yellow nonetheless! This model was built from older Tamiya kit with multiple additions and detail sets from several aftermarket companies and some hand-made bits and pieces. Then, I finished my old box-stock project – Tamiya Porsche 911 GT3. Half way through the project I decided to change the color and little 911 got a makeover. Check detailed buildup diaries below, and new wallpapers of these models in the wallpaper section.

I also finished quite a few of new small scale models. Check 1/43 scale section for these little gems.  Several new articles were added to the publications section – some of the recent magazines should still be available on the newsstands.  Three new tutorials were also added, and I'm also working on a couple more – but there is no telling when I will have the time to upload them.

In the Reviews section I started reviewing old, out of production, rare Ferrari kits. I have quite a few of these hard to find pieces, and thought it would be great  to show you what they like.  There are five of these new reviews there right now, but hopefully I will review more for the next update. My Ferrari kits database is being updated with new kits and aftermarket products released over the last year as you read this. Hopefully I'll be able to upload an update very soon. 2009 was rather busy year for new Ferrari products, so I hope I'll include all newly released ones. As always – if you see a mistake or an omission, please let me know so I could keep the database current.

Finally, I would like to thank all of you who provided support to ItalianHorses.net over all those years. Thank you for your emails, questions, requests, and suggestions. Keeping a site like ItalianHorses takes a lot of time and resources, so if you feel like this site helped you in any way, please consider supporting it via Paypal button at the bottom of this page. I would really appreciate it! Keep on modeling! Alex
